SUPPORTING PIPERS FARM TO OVERCOME A COMPLIANCE ISSUE

Pipers Farm operates a 10,000 tonne input, 500 kWe output agricultural AD plant in Kent.  They suffered an urgent compliance issue that stopped them operating. Read on for a detailed case study about how we helped them overcome the issue and get back to a stronger power production than ever.

The problem

We hit an urgent compliance issue that prevented us from operating and needed a safe pair of hands to get the plant back on its feet asap.

Engaging ONM

We meet the guys from ONM back in 2017 so already knew what they were capable of, so we got in touch to see if they could help.

The solution

We contracted them to manage the project works and ensure all compliance angles were covered.  They took responsibility for:

  • Emptying digester tanks & disposing of the product via approved routes
  • Cleaning out and disinfecting tanks
  • Reseeding the Digesters (and sourcing effective seed product) & getting biology back to stable health
  • Interfacing with the EA and other authorities to gain approval to reopen
  • Recommissioning the plant
  • Getting the engines back to full load
  • Leaving stable biology

The result

With Ricky& Kyrone’s guidance, we overcame our issues efficiently and compliantly. The project costs were significantly reduced because of their industry knowledge and contacts.  They also helped us build stronger relationships with the local EA officer and supporting governing bodies.

Pipers Farm’s thoughts on working with ONM:

“The project came together really well without any delay. We found the guys to be helpful and knowledgeable, with a can-do, operational mentality. Our plant has never worked better…we are consistently producing above target power.“
